Dilantha to compete in 37 races this season

Twice Champion in the Malaysian Super Car Series Dilantha Malagamuwa
the only Sri Lankan driver to win on foreign circuits is to take another
step forward this season by competing in three different championships.
The championships are Asian GT3, Asian GT4 and the Malaysian Super
Series. In addition to these events He will compete in the MME 12 hour
Race to be held in Sepang F I Circuit Malysia.

Dilantha will this season will participate in these races in a
Lamborghini in the GT races while for the Malaysian Super Car Series he
will drive a ‘Nismo RS 380’. Both these cars are high powered and he is
expected to give the other drivers a torrid time this season.
Last year was placed third in the Malaysian Super Series as he was
disqualified from two events. Though he made representations they were
not considered and had to content with the third place. Had his appeals
considered in his favor hw would have been the winner and also could
have ben the champion for the third successive year running. Though he
won the championship on two occasions it was with a car with lesser
power but his skillsprovedthat he is a master in driving which brought
him success. This season with a high powered car he is sure make
theotherd driver follow him though out the Series.
His successes also has brought glory to the country though he was not
given the due recogniton. He had to undergo many difficulties as he did
not have any sponsors during his successes, but his previous
achievements have brought him good results with two leading Car
manufacturers coming forwardto sponsor him for the current season.
They have consented to provide with a vehicle for him to drive during
the season which is of vital importance to him to carry on with the good
work he has done so far to bring glory not only to him but also to the
whole country at large.
Dilantha speaking to the daily news just before his departure said
that he hopes to set anew world record this year. He added that very few
have won two events on a single day and he is also among them.
With four races scheduled to be run on a single day during the season
he says that he coulddo it without much difficulty as he is equipped
with high powered car to achieve this. Thanks to the sponsor for kind
geture he said. He is due to start off this season’s campaign on May 15
and 16 with round one and two of Asian GT3 on Sepang International
Circuit, Malaysia.
