Sri LankaYouth VB team for Iran
The Sri Lanka Youth Volleyball Pool (Boys) will participate in a
tournament in Iran from May 13 - 20. This is considered as the Asian
qualifying round for the forthcoming first ever Youth Olympic Games to
be held in Singapore.
This round comprise of ten teams from the Asian region with the hope
of finding a berth for the Youth Games. Sri Lanka will play in Group 'A'
along with China, South Korea, Australia and host Iran, while in Group
'B' India, Japan, Chinese Thaipei, Kazakhstan and Thailand battle for
the next position in Iran..
Sri Lanka team a which reached the seventh position in the region
last year is packed with a new set of talented players are undergoing
training before their departure to Iran. The Lankan team under Guidance
of coach Charles Tillekeratne while his deputy is Deepal Alwis.
