Doctorate for Dan Seevaratnam

At the recently concluded convocation of the Sri Lanka Wayamba University, the University conferred Dan Seervaratnam with a Honorary Doctor of Science degree.

Dr. Dan Seevaratnam has created history by being the first person in the Plantation Industry of Sri Lanka to be conferred a Doctorate in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the industry. His career spans over 35 years.

He currently heads Watawala Plantations Plc., a joint venture with Tata Tea India as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Dan Seevaratnam also serves on many boards including the Tea Research Board, the Plantation Human Development Trust and the Board of Governors of National Institute of Plantation Management.
