Harischandra Best rider at Pinwatte Cycle Tour

The fifth annual Pinwatte Gems Cycle Tour conducted by Ratnapura District Cycling Association and Provincial Secretariat Pelmadulla was won by one of the Elite Riders Wasantha Harischandra of the Sri Lanka Army. The event held on April 15 was sponsored by Pinwatte Gems.

Over 50 riders on standard bikes participated in his 170 km tour and the finish was very close one with the winner Wasantha and the two runners up Jeewan Sandakelum of Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Dinesh Danushka, Sri Lanka Air Force clocking the same time of 4 hrs 41 mts. 39 secs.

Janak Sumanaweera was declared as the winner of the Ratnapura District, while A.M. Maharoof was placed second and Chamal Ranjith took the third position in this category.

Janak Sumanaweera also became the Best Sprint rider during the whole Tour which covered a distance of 170km.

Overall: Wasantha Harischandra (Sri Lanka Army) 4: 41.39 secs., Jean Sandakelum (Sri Lanka Ports Authority) 4:41.39 secs. Dinesh Danushka (Sri Lanka Air Force) 4:41.39 secs. Nandana Wijetunga (Kalutara) 5: 1.00 secs. Asiri Kelum (Southern CC) 5: 1.00 secs.
