It will be rugby lovely in the hills this weekend when two top school
games featuring four top schools from Kandy will be played today
Saturday - April 24.
At Nittawela Kingswood College will take on St. Anthony’s College.
The composition of the two teams is still not known. The Antonians will
be captained by stand off Tharindu Chanaka with Kevin Peiris as his
deputy.
The team will be once again coached by Priyantha Gunaratne who took
over mid way last season after the Antonians had lost a number of
matches in a row.
He transformed the side into a match winning combination and put them
into a winning streak by even entering the semi finals of the schools
Presidents trophy.
This was after one time the Antonians faced relegation in the league
tournament.
Kingswoodians will be led by full back Rajith Sansoni a very
intelligent player with judicious kicking to touch as his forte. He is
also a fine spot kicker. His deputy is Mohammed Fazly.
Kingswoodians will be again coached by former Kingswoodian, Kandy SC
and Sri Lanka utility player Nilfer Ibrahim who now turns out for the
Navy.
At the Trinity Rugby Stadium at Pallekelle Trinity College who have
done well in the two practice matches played so far will play hosts to
Dharmaraja College on the same day.
Trinity College will be captained by Damith Dissanayake with Shenan
Armstrong as his deputy. |
