Tough task for Wayamba

Wayamba team started a tough chase and were no loss for zero ahead of a huge total of 598 of Basnahira North at stumps of the second day of their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial 4 day cricket tournament match which continued at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.

Dimuth Karunarathne (185) and Kaushal Silva both passed the 150 run mark and continued their hunt for runs to help Basnahira set a comfortable first innings total.

Ruhuna fights back

Geeth Alwis (4 for 25) accounted for a good show for Ruhuna with the ball to rattle the lower batting order to restrict Kandurata team's first innings to 271 runs in the second day of their Bank of Ceylon Inter Provincial 4 day cricket tournament match continued at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday. Ruhuna were 156 for 2 at stumps.
