Pakistan congratulates UPFA

The Pakistani Government has congratulated Sri Lanka on its
parliamentary election and the victory of the United People's Freedom
Alliance. In a letter sent by Pakistani Islamic Republic President Aif
Ali Zardari to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Pakistani President has
said "the election results testify to the great trust that the Sri
Lankan people repose in the able leadership of Mahinda Rajapaksa".
He said he is confident that the traditional close relations between
the two countries would continue to gain strength in the days to come.
The Pakistani President also conveyed his best wishes for President
Mahinda Rajapaksa's good health and continued progress and prosperity of
the people of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. |
