Bulb costs man life

A man changing a bulb at a volleyball ground near his house Saturday died after being electrocuted, police said.

This was revealed at the inquest held on the death of I.D. Tissa Sampath Kumarasinghe, 21, of Thibirigama by Inquirer into Sudden Deaths, Wathupitiwala, R.K. Gunathilaka. Kumarasinghe was an employee of a private company in Colombo.

The Inquirer recorded a verdict of accidental death due to electrocution.

Kirindiwela police led evidence.

Meanwhile, an eight month baby died when he accidentally fell from the bed. This was revealed at the inquest on the death of Mohamad Javallahi Mullak, by Inquirer into Sudden Deaths, Pugoda, Wijayasena Hapuarachchi.

The child’s mother Vahiva Jevad and several others gave evidence.

The inquirer recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Pugoda police led evidence.
