Guru Geethaya takes to the screen

After thirty years of service as a principal Gananath was compulsorily retired by an invinsible arm. However the Advanced Level students of his school, and the chief monk of the village temple were visibly disturbed by this prejudicial incident and started protesting against it.

A scene from Guru Geethaya

Even though he was treated badly by the authorities this unselfish schoolteacher continued to teach the students voluntarily and imparted his knowledge literally during and after school hours. Sadly the injustice against him by the vicious people continue as the story unfolds.

Guru Geethaya portrays the conflicts and struggles of the characters who uphold the harmony of this beautiful rural village and strives to protect the cultural values against the vicious outside demons who try to destroy the fabric of the society.

Directed by Bermin Lionel Fernando the 42 episode teledrama. The script is by K.B. Herath, Priyantha Perera and Pushpakumara Rajaguru are the cameramen. Navaratne Gamage is the music director and Amarasiri Peries provides the background vocals to lyrics penned by Dr. Ajantha Ranasinghe. The makeup is by Thushara Jeevanthi.

Guru Geethaya will be shown on Sirasa TV at 10 p.m.
