Poetry

A Fleeting World

Life in the World man lives in is transitory,
All his wealth isn't lasting but temporary.
With every breath, his life becomes dearer,
Slowly but surely, his hour of judgement gets nearer.
Acts that are good are the best of his possessions,
Acts that are bad are the worst of his possessions.
All his acts are recorded in the Book of Deeds,
Much to the surprise of one and all, indeed.
Both the good and the bad will have to face judgement,
Queries will be levelled against their acts of commitment.
On the basis of truth, judgement will be based,
No power or influence can get it effaced.
Qualities like goodness and uprightness are desirable,
Sans such qualities, man's position is regrettable.
The culmination will be the Day of Judgement,
On which day, the sinner will have to face punishment.
For man, life indeed is not going to be very long,
Death is sure to claim him before long.
It's time man took heed to mend his ways,
Should be mindful of his acts before he ends his days.
What's needed is an understanding of true reality,
The penalty for wrong-doing is an absolute certainty.
The evil that men do will come to its own end,
No Court of Appeal can pass judgement to alter this trend.
All in all, the advent of the Day of Reckoning is a certainty,
The wrong-doers facing their consequences is a reality.

The Shadow

Two lonely eyes
That stared into the grim darkness
Was startled to see
A dark figure on the wall
Moving when the faint light flickers
Fear grappling him,
Confusion upsetting his weak mindset,
Gazed and gazed into the darkness,
In an desperate effort
To find another life in the room
Oh! To his utter dismay
Realization came within
The mysterious figure
Appearing on wall
Was nothing but his own shadow
Never fear shadows
For they simply mean
There's light shining near by.

Let them bloom

Freedom to shine in the glorious sunshine
Freedom to last in the charming moonlight
Freedom to bloom and stay delight
Freedom and right, to enjoy all rights.

Handle with care, with best optimum
Never, tamper, harass or harm
Show them the path, the path to wisdom
And admire the way, they freely bloom

Listen to the voices with great concern
Protection, participation and right solution
To regard a precious growing human
Without harsh or discrimination

Careful attention, never let go wither
Pleasing environment, makes them flutter
Holding, dancing, embracing each other
Little angels, happy and be together

Bloom from the South and to the North
Bloom along the East and to the West
Understand the value of a great nation
They are the jewels and the future generation

The Bliss Supreme

In this endless journey through samsara
We walk along the corridors of life.
Bearing a burden behind,
Greed, lust love and hatred.
Let's be relieved for a while,
Leave behind the toil,
the hustle and bustle,
Be free from greed,
Let bygone be gone
Forget the future unknown,
Kneel down and feel the presence
For essence is presence.
Be mindful for a minute
and develop strength acute
To carry your burden
In your journey long,
For Beauty, betrays you before four score,
Friends follow you to the grave yard,
Goods only to the door step.
Good deeds are the friends indeed
For they follow you
To the zenith,
The bliss supreme!

Entombed Beauty

O piteous young woman!
Why you not let me
admire just a while
the sparkling eyes of yours,
the charming and enticing smile
and the soft and tawny complexion
concealed under the burkas?

The gloomy-gloved wrists
hide the rich glitter of
the gold bangles shamefully.
It reminds me a still figure
neatly dressed in a casket!
A statue of a novice sculptor
seems to be more shapely
lovely and lively.

Let the mortal eye a moment
to feast on the charming and
shapely feminine body of yours
before it bites the dust.

The squirrels

It was really a thrill
To watch the two squirrels
That sang in noisy shrills
As if it were a friendly quarrel.

Turning and twisting its body
And moving here and there free
One of them appeared on the tree
That stood tall in front of me.

And then came jumping another
Possibly the first one's partner
To stage their habitual show together
Like a perfect professional performer.

Chirping and chattering - all combined
The musical notes started flowing
While up and down they climbed
One moving forward and the other following

Twitching with ease their body and tail
Simultaneously with the cry they made -
How beautiful and graceful and how agile
Gradually the melodious notes began to fade.

Swiftly they moved away making me wonder
What they said and what to ponder.
Who is there, their lovely language to decode
But surely human cares did they unload.

Loving Grandmother

Specs are alone on the table
Jasmine is waiting for your visit
Still piece of bread is there
No squirrel to eat
Without feeling your love
Armchair is empty
When son comes after school
Grandma has gone to heaven with angels
