Trishaw driver drugs passenger, steals phone, jewellery

A three-wheeler driver who drugged a passenger and stole his jewellery and mobile phone valued at Rs. 128,000 was arrested by Dehiwela Police. Police said the suspect was a resident of Dam Street.

Police also recovered 10 pills from the suspect's possession. The three- wheeler was taken into police custody.Meanwhile, a German woman drowned in the sea near Katukurunda. She was pronounced dead after being admitted to the Kalutara, Nagoda Hospital on Friday, police said.

The woman aged 62, was bathing with her husband when she drowned. A verdict of death due to drowning was returned at the post postmortem examination.
