Cooperate with President at April 8 polls
It is the duty of the public to extend their
cooperation to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the April 8 General
Election and give a strong mandate to change the existing electoral
system that has led to strong competition among candidates lined
with hatred for one another, Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha

The General Election campaign 2010 will end at
midnight today. All propaganda meetings and canvassing should cease
by that time. This is the first general election to be held in all
22 electoral districts after the defeat of terrorism.

‘I will look after them’:
President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday stressed
that not a single UNP parliamentarian crossed over to the Government
for financial gain. The President categorically denied the UNP
allegation that the Government secured the majority in Parliament by
paying the Opposition members who were willing to cross over.
