'Vote Betel Leaf for development'
Rasika Somarathna
Senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa told the voters yesterday
to vote for the Betel Leaf to propel Sri Lanka towards a developed
nation status.
The UPFA district leader for Gampaha District addressing a massive
gathering at Kirillawala, Mahara yesterday opined that a comprehensive
victory for the
Betel Leaf at the April 8 General Election would ensure an economic
revolution hitherto unseen in the country during the next six years.
Rajapaksa said that he would make sure that the Gampaha district
would emerge the most developed in the country, in line with Sri Lanka's
quest to be the wonder of Asia.
He also emphasized that however nature would not be subjugated in the
name of development and whatever enacted would go hand in hand with the
nature's gifts bestowed on the Gampaha district.
Also viable employment opportunities would be provided to the youth
of the area with the expectation of helping every household to achieve
self sufficiency, he added. He noted that as the person who spearheaded
the North and East revival which rose from its own ashes in a short span
of time he was confident of driving Gampaha to prosperity in the near
future.
To achieve the above the UPFA expects a clear mandate from the people
on April 8, he added. |
