STF remembers fallen comrades during Avurudu

Police Special Task Force held a special function recently to help the family members of their comrades in arms who had sacrificed their lives on duty at the STF headquarters by presenting gifts for the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season.

It was organized by the Welfare Association of the STF under the guidance of STF Commandant DIG KML Sarathchandra. STF personnel left headquarters to various parts of the country with the gift packages to be delivered to the families of their late comrades, the STF said.

The gift packages were to be given to the homes of 490 personnel including 416 who had died in terrorist attacks and 27 others who were police personnel attached to the Ampara/Batticaloa STF units and also other employees of the STF. The gift packages carry the message “We will never forget the supreme sacrifice made by the member of your family.

The valiant war hero and his family are great strength to the STF and the country.”
