Awards for environment concerned students

A group of students who won poetry, paintings and poster competition on climate change received awards at a ceremony held at the British Council recently.

“The event celebrated the achievements of these students who are environmentally concerned,” the British Council Assistant Program Manager Thushara Gunasekera said.

The nationwide competition was held among three age categories.

Around 1250 students from areas such as Jaffna, Batticaloa, Hambantota, Kandy and Colombo expressed their views on climate change through the creative media. The competition was organized by the British Council in association with the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
