Man’s body exhumed after five months

A man’s body was exhumed five months after receiving information that he had been poisoned by his wife’s sister.

H.A. Premalal’s body was buried at the Mabima cemetery and was exhumed last Saturday on the orders of Gampaha Chief Magistrate Mohamed Makie. Earlier, it was reported that he died of natural causes.

The body was handed over to JMO Ragama Hospital for a post-mortem. The dead man’s wife H. Renu Priyangika (32), Biyagama Sudden Deaths U.L. Gunasekera and several others gave evidence.
