Nawaz Rajabdeen

Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Immediate Past President Nawaz Rajabdeen told Daily News Business that this is a time that all should get together and support the President to get another term.

He said that the business community is of the opinion that the President should get a two thirds majority from this election to develop the economy of the country.

He said that this is not the time for the Opposition Leader to demand the peoples’ vote saying that he will get the GSP+ if he wins but to do that while in the Opposition.

Referring to the Opposition Leader’s recent statements on GSP+ he said that it is the people who are going to suffer if Sri Lanka doesn’t get the GSP+. Therefore the Opposition Leader must think about the people if he is a genuine leader, thoughtful of people and help to get the support of the international community.

He said that the President is very keen to develop all the rural districts under the SME projects and the business community should see how best that they can help the President.

He also said that those who have not served in their electorates should not be sent to Parliament.
