Sarkozy heads home after talks with Obama
US: French President Nicolas Sarkozy left the White House late
Tuesday bound for home after talks and a private dinner with President
Barack Obama, a French official said.
Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy headed to Andrews Air Force
base outside Washington for their flight back to Paris following a
two-day trip to the United States, the source said.
No details were released on the private two-hour dinner between the
Sarkozys and Obamas, the first between the two leaders since the US
President's inauguration more than one year ago. Following their
one-hour-plus Oval Office meeting Tuesday, Sarkozy and Obama stood
shoulder to shoulder, calling for swift new UN sanctions on Iran over
its nuclear enrichment program and seeking to put an end to years of
US-French tensions. Washington, AFP
