'UNP, JVP have no viable economic policy'
Neither the UNP nor the JVP has a viable national economic
development policy.
During the elections held in one year both parties that claimed to be
pro-people had come up with two different facades and the common policy
program they presented under the swan symbol has been discarded by the
JVP, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Nandana Gunatilaka said.
It was only a 10 page document and they claimed it could be
implemented to achieve successful economic development but they do not
speak anymore about it. But the Mahinda Chintana policy of the UPFA was
implemented as a practical reality and the extension of that policy
Mahinda Chintana Idiri Dekma (Way forward) is also to be implemented for
the rapid economic development of the country, Gunatilaka said.
