Hemaka to retire as Singer Group CEO

Singer Chairman and CEO Hemaka Amarasuriya, will retire as Chief Executive Officer on June 30.

He will continue in his role as Chairman of the various Singer Group of Companies.

Amarasuriya has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Singer Group for over twenty five years.

He is responsible for re-engineering the Singer Group to become the modern business it is today, whilst also earning Singer the status as Most Popular and Powerful Brand in Sri Lanka through close interaction with the community.

Amarasuriya will be succeeded by Asoka Pieris, who will return to Singer Sri Lanka after completing two years at the Singer Asia corporate office.

The Singer Group in Sri Lanka comprises of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC, Regnis (Lanka) PLC, Regnis Appliances (Pvt) Ltd., Reality Lanka Ltd and Singer Finance (Lanka) Ltd.
