Sri Lanka these many years through its organizing and administrative
ability, has made the right kind of impression of not only successfully
holding major international sporting events, but also of being the
perfect hosts.
This aspects has been widely acknowledged and, it's a rising act of
this healthy reputation that the world sailing body has invited Sri
Lanka to prepare, plan and arrange for the hosting of the GP 14 World
Sailing Championship involving several countries in February 2011 in
Negombo.
The local governing body for the sport, the Yachting Association of
Sri Lanka (YASL) and, it is now becoming conscious that YASL should keep
working towards the success of the February 2011 GP 14 World Sailing
Championship.
It is with this foremost in the mind and, under the aegis of the
Ministry of Sports and Pubic Recreations, that the following
office-bearers were elected at the 48th Annual General Meeting of the
YASL on March 18, 2010 - indeed a preliminary step in the preparation
for the World C'ships.
