AMRC Formula LGB C'ships tomorrow at Pannala

The Asian Motor Racing Club will conduct the Formula LGB 1300 races tomorrow at the Pannala Race circuit commencing 8.30 a.m.

The first stage of this Formula LGB was held in Bangalore, India last year under the JKTyre AMRC Formula 1300. The two races which are to be held will be considered for the as the final event for the championship.

Meanwhile it is also known that the event will be renamed as the Formula McLarens from this event onwards.

The practice sessions for this event was held on March 14 at the same venue. Nadeera Jinasena heads the points table three rounds with 44 points followed by M. Amadoru who has a tally of 35 points. The other drivers in the fray are brothers Harsha and Duminda, young Rikaz Khalid, Shehan de Tissera, and Susantha Gunewardena. Some of the leading drivers in the super class Janaka Dias Dinesh Jayawardene Ashan Silva and Pasindu Peiris are making a strong bid to reach the top in this final round.

In addition to this races there will also be an supporting event for Nissan March cars lined up for the day.

The first Formula event for the day is to commence at 11.15 a.m. And the second is scheduled to be run at 12.25 p.m. Meanwhile the event for the Nissan March is scheduled to be run at 11.50 a.m.

The organizers have made arrangements for drivers of both categories to run practice sessions before starting the qualifying rounds.

With all leading drivers in the fray Nadeera Jinasena and M. Amadoru the two top contenders are sure to face stiff opposition from them. So with experienced and young drivers in action the races the spectators are to witness high standard of formula racing after a long lapse.

The competitors who have already participated in the earlier championship events are Nadeera Jinasena, M. Amadoru, S.A. Harsha, Rikaz Khalid, S.A. Duminda, Shehan de Tissera, Nalin Gunasekera, Janka Dias, Dinesh Jayawardene, Susantha Gunewardene, Tharindu Lokuge, Sanjaya Dissanayake, Ashan Silva, Nihal Weerasinghe, Harsha Priya and Pasindu Peiris.
