Planter's rugby sevens today

The 18th Inter-Plantation Rugby Sevens contest for the Etisalat Cup will take place today at the historic Dikoya Maskeliya Cricket Club ground (DMCC) from 8.30 a.m. onwards.

A total of 15 plantation rugby teams will scrum down this year, all teams comprising planters young and old, who have played the game for leading schools in the island. Last year Maskeliya Plantations Ltd., emerged as the winners, beating Elpitiya Plantations in the final.

This being the only annual sporting event which brings all plantation companies together will be sponsored by Etisalaat (main sponsor), Dilmah , Mlesna and Reliant Traders (all co-sponsors).
