Pundit W.D. Amaradeva, Nanda Malini, Malani Fonseka and Ranjan
Ramanayake were among those who received the People's Award 2009 which
were handed over at a special function held recently.
Malani's niece Sanduni Fonseka accepted the award on behalf of her
aunt as the seasoned actress was in UK attending a film festival to
promote her award winning movie Akasa Kusum. Pandit Amaradeva, Nanda
Malini and Ranjan Ramanayake have bagged the award for three consecutive
years. Somaratne Dissanayake's latest movie Bindu was awarded the most
popular movie award.
Wijaya Newspaper's Lankadeepa clinched the award for the most popular
paper for the fourth year. The event was organised by the Sri Lanka
Institute of Marketing (SLIM) in association with Nielson Research. |
