Sampath Bank triumph

Spinners Jeevan Mendis and Nuwan Perera snapped up four wickets each to give Sampath Bank a convincing 23 run victory over Hatton National Bank in their Singer MCA Twenty20 cricket tournament opening match worked off at the Colts CC ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

Sampath Bank will now take on Janashakthi in another fixture while Unichella will confront John Keells with both matches schedule for today at the same venue.

Sampath Bank: 148 in 19.2 overs (K. Silva 47, J. Mendis 25, D. Lokuhettige 28, C. Jayasinghe 2 for 25, S. Dissanayake 3 for 35, R. Dhammika 3 for 19).

Hatton National Bank: 125 in 18.2 overs (S. Dissanayake 35, C. Jayasinghe 25, N. Perera 20, N. Perera 4 for 25, S. Madanayake 2 for 15, J. Mendis 4 for 25). CD
