More concessions for small, medium scale entrepreneurs

The UPFA Government to be elected at the forthcoming General Election will introduce several relief measures with tax concessions for Small and Medium scale entrepreneurs said, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama.

Minister Amunugama was speaking at a meeting of industrialists held at Digana in Kandy. Members of the Digana Investment Promotion Zone participated.

Minister Amunugama said foreign investment continued to flow into the country after the end of LTTE terrorism and added it was also the duty of the Government to encourage the local entrepreneurs in various ways.

We have already drawn out a plan towards this end and the necessary steps will be taken to expedite the Colombo-Kandy Express way.

Today, we have a peaceful country, the income of our people has improved. Hotels in Kandy are full of foreign tourists these days. This will definitely strengthen the country's economy, Dr Amunugama said. Central Provincial Council member Dilum Amunugama was also present.
