Scouts Movement step to disciplined society

The Boy Scouts Movement has done immense service to the world. It is heartening to see an obedient, brave and efficient future generation being brought up by the Boy Scouts Movement, Western Province Scout Commissioner and Isipatana College Principal Dr. K.D. Punyadasa Kuruppu said.

He was addressing the 153rd anniversary ceremony of the founder of the movement Lord Robert Smith Baden Powell at Isipatana College, Colombo recently.

Scouts are bright individuals. Every person can cooperate with the scout movement. It could help to bring up a good and disciplined future generation in the world, the Commissioner added.

To mark the Baden Powell anniversary 25 senior citizens of Wellawatta Lankadhara elders home were invited to the college and given gifts and entertained by students.

Students also took an oath that they will look after elders till the end.
