CBSL registers Grameen
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has registered Grameen Micro
Credit Co Ltd as a Registered Finance Company under the Finance Company
Act No 78 of 1988. For over 10 years Grameen Micro Credit Co Ltd has
been in the forefront in providing small-scale collateral free loans to
the poorest of the poor for self-employment projects.
Grameen Micro Credit will continue to be in micro financing in Sri
Lanka in strength to the self-employed poorest segment of the society to
uplift their standard of living. Grameen Micro Credit Co Ltd will
continue play a leading role in contributing its services to the rural
and urban economic development by providing collateral free loans
without guarantors to the deserving poor.
Grameen Micro Credit Company has a wide branch network covering every
nook and corner of Sri Lanka.
It serves its members (borrowers) through 46 branches including
Jaffna, Nelliadi, Mannar, Vavuniya, Potuvil, Ampara, Batticaloa,
Trincomalee, in the North and East regions, Badulla, Bandarawela, Nuwara
Eliya and Hatton in the Central, Anuradhapura, Medawachchiya and
Padaviya in the North Central Region Puttalam to Hambantota in the
coastal area and Colombo, Homagama, Kaduwela in the city and suburbs to
name a few. |
