Award ceremony for cartoon contest
UK cartoonist and trustee of the Ken Sprague Fund UK Michal Boncza
Ozdowski will be in Sri Lanka on February 6 to conduct a Cartoon
workshop as part of the cartoon contest on climate change at the British
Council Auditorium at 10 a.m.
The cartoon workshop will include a lecture, demonstration and an
open discussion about practical techniques and hands-on training about
drawing cartoons. The theme throughout the event will be focused on
climate change. The workshop will be a good opportunity for budding
cartoonists to witness Michal at work and learn a few neat tricks to
draw their own cartoons.
The cartoon contest on climate change was organized by the British
Council in partnership with the Ken Sprague Fund UK as part of the
British Councils Low Carbon Futures Project which focuses on mitigating
the effects of climate change in an urban environment.
The top 40 (shortlisted entries) of the cartoon contest on climate
change will be exhibited on the day of the workshop. They were selected
by a panel of eminent cartoonists from Sri Lanka and the UK from entries
received last year.
The winners of the contest will be announced on March 1 and the award
ceremony will follow the workshop on March 6 from 1.30 p.m.
