Israel bombs Gaza, suppresses Palestinians

West Bank: Israeli planes bombed an airport and other facilities in Gaza's southern area, while occupying forces threatened to put down about 200 houses in Jerusalem and continue with repression and arrests of Palestinians in the West Bank.

The military air force raids occurred on Tuesday night and Wednesday midnight against Yasser Arafat international Airport in Dahaniya, Rafah, bordering with Egypt in the southern area of this enclave.

Sources of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), controlling the border, said the planes launched five missiles against this facility, without victims, as part of a similar action occurred two days ago when three people were wounded.

Tel Aviv planes also attacked an underground tunnel in the frontier of this Egyptian territory used by Palestinians to release shortages provoked here for more than two years and a half of Israeli blockade.

The Israeli Government confirmed the bombing and said it was the respond for launching missiles a few days ago against the western side of the Negev desert in the south of the Israeli State and at the same time threatened to continue the operations firmly.

Meanwhile Palestinian sources denounced that Israelis troops violently burst into the south entry to Jenin settlement and mobilized patrols around Al Quds Opened University and Marah Saad and Sweitat towns in the West Bank. The confrontations between residents and Israeli troops killed two teenagers and three Palestinian journalists were wounded, others were hurt with tear gases launched by occupying troops to disperse protests.

At the same time Jerusalem officials ordered imminent demolition of 200 Palestinian houses in Silwan, an area overcrowded by Arabs just in the outskirts of the Old City walls and one side of Al-Aqsa mosque. Jerusalem Municipality has ordered to pull down 100 houses in Shiyah, in which 15,000 inhabitants live. - Gaza Prensa Latina
