Over 480 Police operational offices for General Elections

A total number of 488 Police operational offices and election units will be set up throughout the country from today for general election duties, said Senior DIG (Elections) Gamini Navaratne.

This will include 75 operation offices at Provincial Level and 413 units at Police station level.

They will entertain election complaints, conduct and collect intelligence and ensure speedy action on complaints, DIG Navaratne said.
