Three Judge Bench to hear FR Application

A three Judge Bench of the Supreme Court will hear the Fundamental Rights Application today filed by Anoma Fonseka, wife of General Sarath Fonseka and New Democratic Front Secretary Shamila Perera.

The Supreme Court Bench Comprises Chief Justice Asoka de Silva, Justice Shiranee Tillakawardena and Justice Chandra Ekanayake.

The petitioners cited Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya, Officer-in-Charge of Colombo Security Mj. Gen. Sumith Manawadu, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Head of the Military Police Military Provost Marshal Brig. Wijesiri and the Attorney General as respondents.
