SLFEB not aware of any ban on housemaids

The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) has not been informed of any action by the Saudi Arabian authorities to impose a ban on a recruiting housemaids, a senior official of the Bureau said yesterday.

"We are not even aware of such information," he told the Daily News yesterday.

International media reported last week that the Saudi Arabia is considering a ban on recruiting housemaids from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia and Vietnam due to their poor level to adapting to the Saudi Arabian culture and traditions.
