Students benefit from Deyata Kirula

Vocational Training Minister Piyasena Gamage said the students visiting the Deyata Kirula exhibition will be educated on the study courses introduced by the institutions coming under the Vocational Training Ministry.

According to the Minister, the stalls by the institutions coming under the Vocational Training Ministry are expected to attract more school leavers and the students who seek internationally recognized qualification in the vocational training sector at this exhibition.

He said, almost all institutions under his ministry have opened stalls at the exhibition premises at Pallekelle and each visitor will receive a leaflet carrying the information of services rendered by each institution.

The Minister said the National Apprentice, Industry and Technical Training Authority, Vocational Training Authority, National Institute of Business Management and the UNIVOTEC University at Ratmalana are among the key institutes that have opened stalls at the exhibition.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry yesterday said a mobile consular service has been opened in the Foreign Ministry stall for the benefit of the public. The Ministry has organized a photographic exhibition depicting the close relations between Sri Lanka and the overseas.

The photographs depicting the official visits of Heads of States and other dignitaries are on display at the exhibition.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman said several overseas missions in Colombo have also opened stalls at this mega exhibition and they expect to make the visitors aware of various cultural and religious backgrounds in their countries.

These missions through their stalls will enlighten the public on the enormous opportunities available for the skilled workers and professionals.
