Victory of working class

The victory gained by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is also the victory of the working class of this country. The credit of ending the three decade old terrorism should go solely to the President.

Minister Athauda Seneviratne

This cannot be claimed by anybody else Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne said in a press release.

Sarath Fonseka tried to portray this victory on something achieved exclusively by him. However, the people of this country didn't accept it that way. They know what is the real situation. That's why they ensured an overwhelming victory to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at this Presidential Election, the Minister said.

The Opposition misled the general public right throughout the campaign. Now they say the election result is a fraud. If it is so, they are free to go to Courts. The common candidate of the Opposition has become 'common' only to an unholy alliance. Now it has been proved that who is the common candidate of the entire people of this country. Moreover, the people are not foods to believe the proposed salary increase of Rs. 10,000 made by him. The working people of this country have a good understanding of the President whom we believe will definitely solve the other problems affecting the country today.

I am also highly confident that the working class have already rallied round to ensure the victory of the UPFA with a two third majority at the forthcoming General Election, the Minister stated.
