Eighth outright for Asoka Vidyalaya

Asoka Vidyalaya, Colombo recorded their eighth outright victory when they defeated Ananda Sastralaya, Kotte by innings an 22 runs in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at prison grounds, Mahara. The schools that they beat were Ibbagamuwa Central, St. Thomas, Bandarawela, Karandeniya Central, Bandaranayake MV, Gampaha, P de S. Kularatne, Ambalangoda, Sri Jayawardanapura, Kotte and Sri Sumangala, Kandy.

Sastralians batting first were all out for 117 runs with Charaka Hemachandra and Lahiru Agalawatte bagging 4 for 7 and 4 for 26 respectively. In reply Asoka Vidyalaya declared at 277 for 6 with Charaka Hemachandra scoring 113 runs with seven fours and nine sixes, Sandun Jeevaratna contributed 67 runs.

In their second essay Sastralians were 138 with Akila Madushanka making 74 runs.
