Dambulla PS meeting Development projects to continue - Chairman

Unity is important to carry out development activities said Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha opposition leader A.G. Sirisena (UNP).

"As the public representatives we should remember this," he said at the Sabha's monthly meeting.

The meeting was held at the Dambulla-Dambulugama Pradeshiya Sabha Auditorium. Chairman K.G. Somathilaka presided. Sirisena said all work should be carried out unitedly.

Chairman K.G. Somathilaka (UPFA): During the last year, we did many development projects in our area for the benefit of the public and I expect to continue it within the current year.

Vice-Chairman Jaliya Opatha (UPFA): There were many disturbances during the last election period. But such things are not visible this time.

Lal Samaratunga (UPFA): False allegations are being made by some political rivals, provoking the public therefore the public should be educated regarding this.

PS Member L.B. Herath (UPFA): After the Kandalama reservoir was filled with water from Mahaweli water, wild elephants throng the reservoirs reservation area damaging individual properties. Street-lamps would be fixed along public roads in this area.
