Hiruka (4\3) helps Colts win title

Left arm bowler Hiruka Fernando snapped up four wickets for just three runs from two overs to help Colts CC beat Kurunegala YCC by five wickets in the SLC women's Twenty20 tournament final played at the NCC ground in Maitland Place yesterday.

As a result Kurunegala YCC were restricted to 86 for 9 from their 20 overs after they had won the toss and elected to bat first. Chaturuni Gunawardena hit a fighting half century inclusive of five boundaries. Colts CC in reply reached their target with three overs to spare despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Udeshika Prabodhani guided them through while scoring an unbeaten 29.

Kurunegala YCC: 86 for 9 in 20 overs (C. Gunawardena 51, C. Seneviratne 3 for 22, H. Fernando 4 for 3).

Colts CC: 87 for 5 in 17 overs (U. Prabodhani 29 n.o, S. Deepika 2 for 21) C.D.
