To safeguard national interest:
Defeat frantic move
Conspiratory forces are engaged in an effort to undermine the
initiatives of President to unify the nation after defeating the Tamil
homeland dream of the LTTE, by merging the North and East.
It is the bounden duty of every patriotic citizen to defeat this
frantic move by these elements, Urban Development and Sacred Area
Development Minister Dinesh Goonawardene said.
Presiding over a Mahajana Eksath Peramuna conference of the Kesbewa
electorate held recently at the 'Wanapetha' Hall, Kesbewa, Minister
Goonawardene said nearly 29 political parties have rallied round the
UPFA to ensure the victory of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the
Presidential Election. The people from the North and South alike
strongly believed that the President would never give into the threats
emanating from foreign or local elements. On the other hand, Ranil
Wickremesinghe had made false complaints about Sri Lanka to the UN Human
Rights Commission. He tried his best to topple the economy and force the
suspension of the humanitarian war.
It was President Mahinda Rajapaksa who gave orders to Sarath Fonseka
in the battlefront.
Today this very Sarath Fonseka is making efforts to support the Eelam
concept of the Tamil National Alliance.
All patriotic forces should come forward to defeat this dangerous
conspiracy, Minister Goonewardene said.
SLFP Kesbewa organiser Gamini Lokuge, Colombo District organiser
Chandana Kathriarachchi, Western Provincial Councillor Sunil Jayamini
and several others were present.
