Tharunyata Hetak most popular
A survey conducted by the Kelaniya University on National Development
and Social Opinion - second step revealed that the most popular
advertisement in the current Presidential Election campaign was
Tharunyata Hetak.
Of those interviewed, 32.92 percent gave the thumbs up for Tharunyata
Hetak with Suba Anagathayak preferred by 20.59 percent. Mata Pera Rata
was the choice of 12.65 percent. The survey also founded that the most
discussed topic today is the Cost of Living followed by betrayal of the
country.
The survey on the basis of interviews with different age groups and
occupations found 37 percent of the people placed the Cost of Living as
a priority issues while 20 percent decided that betrayal of the country
was the main issue. Those interviewed comprised Government servants (22
percent), private jobs (23 percent), self-employed (28 percent) and
un-employed (27 percent). They were within the age groups of 18-25 (20
percent), 26-30 (33 percent), 41-55 (25 percent) and 55 (16 percent). Of
those interviewed 18 percent thought the Presidential system most
important.
