Adeesha puts Nalanda in command

Sri Lanka under 19 discard Adeesha Nanayakkara hit a fighting century to put Nalanda College in a commanding position on the opening day of their inter-school under 19 cricket tournament match against Lumbini MV which commenced at the Colts ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

Nanayakkara who came into bat at the fall of the second wicket hoisted five sixes and struck ten boundaries before he was last man out for a splendid 123 runs. Lumbini MV in reply were struggling at 84 for 9 with Nipun Karunanayake claiming four wickets for 30.

Nalanda: 222 (A. Nanayakkara 123, V. Sanjaya 3 for 57, P. Jayasundera 2 for 70, R. Sandaruwan 3 for 38)
