EFC sets up HR Solutions Division

The Employers' Federation of Ceylon (EFC) has set up a HR Solutions
Division to undertake specific assignments in relation to Human
Resources Management/Development. Quite apart from being involved in
promoting the interests of the employers and lobbying for labour law
reforms and being engaged in collective bargaining on behalf of member
companies, the EFC is now widening its service portfolio, providing
advisory services on Human Resources Management/Development issues, EFC
Director General Ravi Peiris told Daily News Business.
He said that the EFC HR Solutions Division will undertake assignments
such as job descriptions, setting up performance management systems,
preparation of HR manuals, designing recruitment and promotion schemes,
HR audits etc.
The setting up of this unit demonstrates the EFCs proactive role in
promoting its vision, which is to achieve social harmony through
productive employment.
The EFC believes that employers need to put their houses in order to
ensure that employees would have a better working environment, which
would eventually increase productivity and efficiency, which will
ultimately assist in having good workplace relations. Any employer
interested in discussing any particular assignment in relation to Human
Resource Management/Development should get in touch with Head of
Training Dr K L Chandratilleke or Industrial Relations advisor of the
Federation, Thamali Senanayake, Peiris said. |
