Protect pets from New Year crackers

Sathva Mithra, a voluntary organization working for prevention of cruelty to animals appealed to the public to desist from lighting fire crackers and other fireworks especially at midnight when the burst of crackers frightens pet dogs out of their homes and into the streets and drains. Some of these animals may even get killed.

"Do not fail to keep your pets safe so they cannot get out of your premises. Check the gates, fences and drains to ensure your dog cannot escape. If you are going out do not keep your pets alone. Keep a trusted person in the house. Protect your pets," Sathva Mithra said in press release yesterday.
