Ecuador installs thermal turbines
Ecuador: Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa is supervising one of the
seven turbines of thermal generation, which were acquired due to the
energy crisis of the country for the prolonged drought.
The turbine, which was installed in Miraflores Power Plant, is a
device of the emergency type that is placed on four semi trailers, it
will contribute 22,8 megawatts to the National Interconnected System.
It costs $18, 5 million and works with diesel or natural gas.
Another three of the seven turbines, which were acquired in the
United States, are being installed in Pascuales, Guayas province and
