Newly built houses for war heroes

Under the Government’s program to cater to the welfare of war heroes
and their families two newly built fully equipped houses in Matara
District were gifted to the families of Sinha Regiment Lance Corporal
Wijesinghe of Peletiyana, Weligama and Gemunu Regiment Sergeant Silva of
Palatuwa, Matara on the initiative of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the
Defence Ministry led by its President Ayoma Rajapaksa recently.

Seva Vanitha Unit Vice President Indu Ratnayake Galle Security Forces
Commander Brig. P.U.S. Vithanage and Sinha Regiment Brigade Commander
R.M.S. Ratnayake were also present on the occasion.
Lance Corporal Wijesinghe sacrificed his life at the Mullaitivu final
battle and Sergeant Silva died of injuries sustained in the
Puthukuduyiruppu battle.
