Minister queries Fonseka's discipline

Mass Media and Information Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa at yesterday's Cabinet briefing questioned Sarath Fonseka's discipline based on a statement that said Fonseka as the Chief of Defence Staff inquired of JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva as to what steps should be taken when he was asked to call on by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Minister Yapa making this observation in response to a question raised by a journalist at the briefing at the Information Department said Fonseka had not denied Tilvin Silva's statement made at a rally.

The Minister also asked if Fonseka could get instructions from a third party while being the Chief of Defence Staff.
