Time to show gratitude to President - Ven Muruttettuwe Thera

The members of Jayewardenepura Vidyodaya Vidyartheens' Alumni
Association yesterday held an Ashirvada Puja at Narahenpita Abhayarama
Temple to invoke blessings on President Mahinda Rajapaksa to ensure his
victory at the Presidential election 2010.
Chief Incumbant of Abhayarama, Ven. Muruttettuwe Ananda Thera
conducted the P uja. The President of Jayewardenepura Alumni Association
and Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs
Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Urban Development and Sacred Area
Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and former Inspector General of
Police and Additional Secretary of Trade Ministry Jayantha Wickremeratne
took part in the Puja. Ven. Muruttettuwe Ananda Thera said, they
contemplated that who shall be rightly placed with blessings to lead the
country upon their conduct and performances as public leaders.
"It was the man who ended and removed the bane of terrorism that
plagued the country for over thirty years, the man who sprinkled the
country with the water of peace after ending 30 years of bloody war
through tact, bravery and uprightness. He is our President now," said
the Thera.
He has started his campaign today asking the people's mandate to
continue his office, he added. "Seven months have passed since he has
freed the country and paved the way for the people to breath the air of
freedom." It is now time to show one's gratitude to him who has done
what others thought impossible, he said. |
