PM instructs to expedite road rehabilitation
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka instructed Highway Ministry
officials to complete the rehabilitation of the Colombo-Horana road in
two weeks, at a discussion held at the Prime Minister's Office in
Colombo on Tuesday. At the discussion, the officials explained the
reasons behind the delay in the reconstruction of the road. The Prime
Minister stressed that immediate steps should be taken to expedite the
matter in the interest of the people.
He instructed them to complete the work before December 30.
Road Development Authority acting Chairman Ranjith Premasiri said he
would take immediate steps to complete the task at a cost of Rs 275
million within the next two weeks. Highways Ministry Secretary Wasantha
Karannagoda is also present at the discussion. |
