Twenty three candidates the largest in a Presidential race so far in Sri Lanka will submit their nominations to contest the January 2010 Presidential poll to Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake at the Elections Secretariat in Rajagiriya between 9 am and 11 am today.

An outrageous and irresponsible statement relating to the Security Forces has posed a number of problems to the country, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He said the entire country has to face the adverse impact of this type of misleading and reckless statement.

Construction work on a tower building to house broadcasting antennaes will commence next month in Peliyagoda with an investment of US$ 100 million.
