Multi point technology for education

Multi Point Technology is planning to be introduced for Primary
Education system next year under the aegis of Microsoft Sri Lanka
Limited.
Multi point technology is the latest development in teaching
methodology which gives an opportunity to every student in the class to
join in subjective activities simultaneously.
Under the multi point technology program, 400 primary schools will be
upgraded and facilitated to teach the communication and information
technology subject. The Education Ministry and Microsoft Sri Lanka
Limited have jointly allocated Rs 100 million for the project.
The Education Ministry has planned to commence the project at the
beginning of next year. Primary schools selection process will be
carried out soon while giving equal opportunity to every province.
The Memorandum of Understanding for the project was handed over to
Education Minister Susil Premajayanth by Microsoft Sri Lanka, Country
Manager Sriyan de Silva.
"More than 3,500 new computer laboratories have already been
constructed in rural and urban schools.
During the next year, 1,500 more computer laboratories will be
established. Ruwanpure College of Education has been named as
'Information Technology Education Centre' aiming to fill the shortage of
IT teachers", the Minister added. |
